Looking to consolidate its position as the leader in the natural aromatic ingredients space, French fragrance house Robertet has acquired the Aroma Esencial business.
WHO: Based in Girona, Spain, Aroma Esencial specializes in the processing of natural products such as vetiver, patchouli, cedar, ylang-ylang, and other strategic products for the aroma industry. The company also has extensive experience, a high-end industrial tool for fractionation and molecular distillation, and a range of strategic products for the fine fragrance industry.
Opening their factory in 1850, François Chauvé and his nephew Jean-Baptiste Maubert concentrated on extracting scents from the region’s flowers and plants. The company was acquired by Paul Robertet in 1875. Robertet is the only fragrance, flavor, and ingredient company fully integrated at each step of the creation process—from the source ingredient to the final fragrance and flavor. Today, Robertet, which remains controlled by the Maubert family, has a portfolio of more than 1,700 natural materials and products developed in its 14 creation centers around the globe.
WHY: This deal furthers Robertet's desire to consolidate its position as the leader in natural aromatic ingredients.
